All sandpaper is not created equal. As a result, we love Mirka paper. The backing is beefier than other papers, and to us, that means quality. Aluminum oxide grain is the choice of most woodworkers because it's sharp, durable and, best of all, long-lasting on the higher paper grades that won't shred on the edges. This assortment is perfect for professionals, homeowners, and hobbyists because it includes everything from stock-removing 80-grit to a nice 220 finishing grit. Yes, you can spend less on other sandpapers, but you'll end up spending more in the end. This is quality. --Kris Jensen-Van Heste

5 out of 5 stars Sanding discs galore   September 2, 2010
Kent (Irvine, CA)
These sanding discs are great. The price is great and the quality is great as well. Lowes / Home Depot has these for around 3.50 for 3 pieces. One box and you can finish plenty of jobs from start to finish.

5 out of 5 stars 5" sanding discs   August 27, 2010
Robert D. Keller (baton rouge, La.)
I purchased these sanding discs along with the Milwaukee Random Orbit Sander, and they are a wonderful combination. The discs are easy to install and remove, and they don't seem to want to come off while you are sanding. I have only used them for a very short time, but they sure look good so far.

5 out of 5 stars Never wears out   June 1, 2010
Richard A. Manson (Lemon Grove, CA)
This is my 3nd box of Mirka sandpaper. I still have over half of the 1st 2 boxes I have not used yet, but grabbed this on sale as I know I will use Mirka as long as they keep making it. Is the longest lasting sandpaper I have ever purchased. It doesn't seem to get clogged like other papers, doesn't shred around the edges, or tear. The velcro backing allows the paper to be removed, and then used on sander again many times, still hugs the sander perfectly.

5 out of 5 stars The happy camper   February 4, 2010

I bought these disks to go with my new DeWalt sander. In the first hour I burned three of the 80 grits but I took the ancient varnish off a 3' x 6' oak panel in the process. I bought the DeWalt when I saw how fast I was going through sheets of paper on my old quarter sheet vibrator. Now - I see the disks as expensive but a bargain compared to the sheet sandpaper. I get more work done with less time, effort and cost per square foot now. And the wood looks great - no scratching with the coarse paper. I'm looking forward to the finish sanding steps.

5 out of 5 stars A TERRIFIC VALUE!   January 31, 2010
Gary Kasten (St. Peters, MO USA)
Not sure how much more I can say about sanding disks other than the title of my review.

I was not familiar with the Mirka name and was very pleasantly surprised at the cost and quality. Been buying Norton abrasives, at the big box stores and Mirka blows Norton away, both in quality and cost per disk.

The sanding projects I have used these disks on has mostly been for sanding pine and a little oak. Seems to hold up well in both cases. Did use a 80 grit disk to remove some surface rust from a rusty shovel. Did OK... but I suspect there are better abrasives for that type of job.

I try to by American made products when available, but I'm sold on this product from Norway. And I guess if we have to buy imported products, quality from Norway beats crap from China EVERY DAY!

Try a box of these. You won't be sorry.
