Perfect for cooling electronics September 3, 2010 W. Clifford (Planet Retcon) I bought this fan specifically as an easily portable, usb powered fan to get air flow under a laptop whose processors were being used 100% for hours at a time, making the underside almost too hot to touch. I could not be happier in the least. At full power, it's pretty quiet and it doesn't need to be at full power to do its job. It easily fits in my laptop bag (unlike any of the other sub-$20 fans I've seen out there) and the retractable cable is a very nice bonus that I didn't even consider when I bought this fan.
Nice and cool August 31, 2010 Studio Masters My old iMac (CRT type) kept over heating. I mounted this on the top vent and now it stays nice and cool. Haven't had any problems since.
great little fan August 31, 2010 Mojave Mike (Littlerock, CA United States) I don't give five stars, except in truly exceptional instances. I wish I could give this 4 1/2 stars. It's very good.
I have a [brand/model excluded] laptop, not even a year old yet. When it's in it's docking station it runs a bit "hot". I suspected this was from impeded air flow, as well as hot air flowing from the exhaust port back into the intake fan. This laptop has burned out two CPUs from overheat in less than a year. (good thing work has a gold warranty!)
I placed this fan such that it pulls the hot air from the exhaust and surrounding area, and blows it away. The fan is adjusted to where it runs almost completely silently. The laptop's built-in fan now almost always runs at it's lowest speed and there are no more heat problems; the laptop feels cool to the touch.
The fan comes exactly as pictured in a clam shell pack with a USB power cord. The rheostat allows you to adjust from nearly stopped to full speed, from silent to "motor-boat loud".
Removes some heat from PS3 slim. August 26, 2010 Joseph Gross (Country=America...State=Iowa) I bought this to blow away heat from the back of the console,it works good for it's size.but i wish i would have bought the bigger ThermalTake fan to remove even more heat from the console than this fan does.
Perfect for portable cooling. August 25, 2010 Tilly Tsang I bought 2 of these amazing fans to replace my Nyko Intercooler TS because it wasn't working as well to cool down my xbox360. With these fans running at 12v each on max, it won't do any harm to the xbox360. I put 2 of these on the back of my xbox360 and the air gets sucked right out. Amazing air flow and there is an adjustable speed with a little dial. When 2 of these things are on full blast it can get really loud but the sound of gaming should drown it out. I would recommend these little fans for anyone with a xbox360 or PS3 or any laptop.
